The First Amendment starts with just ten words: " Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." That's the Establishment Clause, and it's one of the most misunderstood parts of the Constitution.
I watch your videos often and always learn something, either new information or your insights on the topics. I must say the video about church and state is one of the best. You have explained in clear language the disconnect between the facts versus what people think. Thank you.
I think the erosian of the separation of Church and State had its beginnings when they added "under God" to the Pledge of Allegence. Even as a Catholic girl in an all girls Catholic high school I could recognize a certain lack of Religious freedom in that act. Atheists objected but the religious stronghold got its way. Trump's god consists of power and profits. He has basically thrown out the New Testament and thrown Jesus under the bus. And he seems to have the, psuedo Christian, MAGA Right behind him all the way. I for one, don't wish a repeat of the Inquisition or the Salem Witch Trials, although I feel that some are living that as a reality even as I write this. As the niece of a man who was shunned, by his church and family members, years ago for questioning the excessive "Church" donations and the pastors "private" meetings with young women in the congregation, I have seen first hand the power of Churches to control and corrupt those willing to obediently follow, without question. Meanwhile, I get the feeling that Trump advisers are in the back room, mixing up the Koolade. Remember, even those who tried to reject it at the end were forced to drink it.
